Become an Advocate for Israel
‘Winning the War of Words,’ a program that teaches how to advocate on behalf of Israel as well as answer critics when discussing the Arab-Israel conflict, will be presented on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 9:30 am-1:00 pm at Young Israel of Hollywood-Ft. Lauderdale located at 3291 Stirling Rd. in Ft. Lauderdale. The program is sponsored by the National Council of Young Israel and The David Project, an organization that promotes a fair and honest understanding of the Arab-Israeli conflict. The groups are partnering to teach advocacy to the Jewish community. Lawrence Muscant will conduct the seminar. Muscant is Manager of Campus Support for the David Project Center, and a PhD candidate in Philosophy at Carleton University, where he is writing on American foreign policy in the Middle East.
"The Arab-Israeli conflict has produced a wave of Anti-Semitism throughout the world and K’lal Yisrael needs specific education and training to combat this growing trend and advocate effectively for Israel in the classroom, office, and neighborhood," says Rebbetzin Judi Steinig, Director of Programming for the National Council of Young Israel.
The event includes a complimentary lunch if reservations are received before Oct. 14. Lunch reservations made after Oct. 14 will cost $15. For information and RSVP, call 954-966-7877 or 212-929-1525 x103 or e-mail: jsteinig@youngisrael.org or rywein@bellsouth.net.
