Silverman Scholarship Fund applications available

Junior and senior undergraduate or graduate students who are residents of Miami-Dade County and who are or will be enrolled in a professional degree program in Jewish education or Jewish communal service are eligible to apply for the Lena and Joseph Silverman Scholarship Fund, available through the Greater Miami Jewish Federation's Foundation of Jewish Philanthropies.

Along with the completed application, supporting materials necessary are:
* Two photographs.
* Three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from the applicant's major field of study at his or her current university, and one of which must be from a rabbi or a leader of the Jewish community in which the applicant resides.
* The essay described on the application form.
* Transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended, to be sent directly by the record custodian to the Foundation of Jewish Philanthropies.
Completed applications, together with supporting materials, must be sent no later than April 12, 2005, to: The Lena and Joseph Silverman Scholarship Fund, c/o Foundation of Jewish Philanthropies, 4200 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL, 33137.
Applications will not be considered unless required materials, including letters of recommendation, are attached. An interview may be required.
