Work crews at the Ben Gamla Charter School labored throughout the night to have the building ready for the first day of school. The City of Hollywood signed off on the school’s Certificate of Occupancy shortly after 8:00 AM Monday morning (the time school was scheduled to begin). It wasn’t until that moment that the throngs of parents and students waiting outside were permitted to enter the building.
